Retirement Planning

Retirement planning is not one decision, it is a series of them, made in the right order and with a full view of how each one affects the others. We help families see the whole picture before any single piece is locked in.
What It Covers

The Whole Picture, Not One
Piece of It

Most people arrive at retirement holding pieces: a pension, an employer account or two, some savings, a Social Security estimate, maybe an insurance policy bought years ago. Each piece was usually decided in isolation, at a different stage of life, for a different reason.

Retirement planning is the work of putting those pieces on one table and seeing how they actually fit together. What income arrives, when, from where, and what happens to it after taxes. What is protected and what is exposed. What can be changed and what is permanent once elected.

We work through that picture with you before recommending anything, because a recommendation made without the full picture is just a guess with confidence attached to it.

What we look at together

Every income source you will draw from in retirement
The order and timing of when you draw from each
Pension elections and the ones that cannot be undone
Employer accounts, IRAs, and Roth IRAs
Social Security timing and how it interacts with the rest
Protection gaps that would change your family's income
Beneficiary designations across every account and policy

Common Questions

Good to Know Before You Start

When should I start retirement planning?
Five to ten years out is ideal, because most of the decisions that matter still have room to work in your favor. That said, planning is valuable at any stage, including after you have already retired, when the focus shifts to making what you have last.
Do I need a certain amount saved to work with you?

No. What matters more is that decisions ahead of you are worth getting right. People with pensions, people without, people still building, and people already drawing income all benefit from seeing the full picture.

Is this the same as investment management?
No. Our focus is planning and coordination: understanding your income sources, your risks, and your options, then building a plan around them. Where a question falls outside that scope, we coordinate with the appropriate licensed professional.
What does the first conversation cost?
Nothing. The first consultation is a no cost, no pressure conversation to understand where you stand and whether working together makes sense.
